Series 21 ran from December 1990 to March 1991. It began with Championship of Champions V, before moving on to the series proper. The twenty-first of 53 series presented by Richard Whiteley was won by Barry Grossman.

Seedings were determined by points total, irrespective of the number of wins. This was for the first series in which losing scores counted towards the points total. Draws also counted, leading to Lew Schwarz's incredible octochamp score of 547, which included two draws. Gillian Tickle and John Arfon were also involved in draws, boosting their scores considerably.
