David Law was an octochamp in Series 81. He is a Retired Bank Official from Moreton in The Wirral.
He first appeared on August 19 2019 against Stephen Mellor, and won with 89 points to Mellor's 80. He then put in seven more good performances in his next seven games and ultimately rounded off his heat run with 700 points to become the fourth octochamp of the series.
He returned for the series finals on December 12 2019, as the number 8th seed, playing in the first quarterfinal against number one seed James Haughton. However Haughton overpowered Law very early on in the game by spotting two nines and maxing the first numbers round to obtain 46 points. Law however fought back, and even defeated Haughton in one letters round, but it wasn't enough and he took his first defeat.
