Episode 4733 was broadcast on 12 January 2009, and was the first preliminary of Championship of Champions XIII.
David O'Donnell played James Hurrell, with David O'Donnell winning 101 – 82. The Dictionary Corner guest was Andrew Sachs, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.
It was the first game played on the new blue set, and marked the debuts of both Jeff Stelling and Rachel Riley.
In Round 5, Riley gave the solution, so the contestants' solutions weren't actually revealed due to the obviousness of the round. However, it can be assumed they were identical.
