Episode 1902
From Countdown
Episode 1902 was broadcast on 13 December 1996, and was the second quarter-final in the final stages of the Supreme Championship.
Andrew Perry played Harvey Freeman, with Harvey Freeman winning 54 – 44. The Dictionary Corner guest was Jenny Hanley, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.
NOTE: While it did not affect the outcome of the game, both contestants' offering of NOUGATS in round 1 should have been disallowed, as NOUGAT is given only as a mass noun in the dictionary, and therefore cannot be pluralised, so the final score should have been 47 - 37.
