Series 12 of the 8 out of 10 Cats Mash-ups began on 18 August 2017 and is currently the series on air.
There was a change in the Format where in Rounds 3 and 4, both team captains and the remaining two players will face off each other respectively, a change from previous Series where the team captain faces the opposing normal player and vice versa. The only exception was in Episode 4 where the game was an 8-rounder rather then a typical 7-rounder.
Also, Episodes 2 and 5 are most notable in being the first two episodes that both regular team captains Sean Lock and Jon Richardson did not appear.
