8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 16, Episode 5 was a special episode broadcast on 10 August 2018, as part of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 16.

Regular Sean Lock and Acting Team Captain Alan Carr were the contestants, along with Phil Wang and Harriet Kemsley who were their teammates respectively, while Jimmy Carr reprised his role as the host.

The match saw Sean Lock, with the assistance of Phil Wang, winning by 34 – 22 in an 7-rounder and they won a Countdown kite.

Rachel Riley was, as ever, the arithmetician. The Dictionary Corner guest was David O'Doherty, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent. Joe Wilkinson also made a special appearance on the show.

Interesting and notable moments from the episode are listed below:

1) During the Introduction, as Alan's mascot was a cardboard cutout of Sir Elton John, he went backstage briefly to wear the identical outfit as in the carboard. Also, he introduced "Kiki Dee" who stood still and didn't say anything.

2) During the 30 seconds in Round 1, apart from David, Phil and Harriet, when Jimmy inserted photos of the celebrities into a "Clone Me 3000" Machine, out came children who were wearing the same outfit to the corresponding celebrity on set. Also, Alan did not show Phil that he had the same word.

3) In Round 3, Jimmy's "head" was "unscrewed" by Fabio and placed on a stand, because of this he was "unable" to press the button to start the clock for Round 4. Rachel volunteered to press it, making this the first time in nine years she has pressed the clock and also "screw" his "head" back on.

4) In Round 4, Alan's original target was 242, only for him to go wrong. Harriet then gave the correct solution on Rachel's behalf, and possibly because of her first appearance, 10 points were awarded to her team at Jimmy's discretion and thus, her name appears with Alan.

5) Just before Round 5, Joe came on stage dressed as a front door and introduced the models with one with both feet stuck inside toilet bowls, one dressed as a bin with his hands stuck with bags of poo and Fabio hanging upside down inside the fridge. Later on, Sean buzzed in as a joke to Joe that there's someone ringing the doorbell and David splashed water on Joe's front door "window".

6) In Round 6, after Joe's failed attempt at placing the letters, Rachel placed the letters randomly on the board. Had that not happened, the correct order would have been: DTLGIOESG. Also, the clock music was replaced by Singin' In The Rain, with Jimmy ending up on top a traditional lamppost at the end.

NOTE: In this version, both players' declarations were allowed, although points were only awarded for the best answer.
