Andy Crompton was a contestant in Series 59.

Unfortunately for Andy, he came up against future-octochamp Martin Bishop in his third game. On this occasion, he equalled Bishop on every letters game. The only thing that separated them going into the conundrum was the first numbers round where Martin's solution was one number closer to the target. Crompton was beaten to the conundrum and lost with a score of 92, the highest score he achieved in his run.
