Andy Gardner was a finalist in Series 70.
He began his run with victory over fellow finalist Priscilla Munday, and won five more games to return for the finals as the number 8 seed. In the quarter-final he lost to eventual champion Mark Murray, but was the first person to hold Murray to under 100 points.
His father, Roland, was a contestant in Series 5 in 1984.
