Barry Landman was a contestant in Series 40.

He beat Dave Benham by five points to become champion, but succumbed to Emma Brown on a crucial conundrum on New Year's Eve 1998. At the end of this game, it was revealed that Landman was to be the first ever recipient of the Countdown winners' teapot.
