Brian Binns was a contestant in Series 39. He was from originally from Hull but living in Nantwich, Cheshire at the time, and was a 53-year-old retired engineering officer in the Royal Air Force who had recently started working as a teacher.

His Countdown appearance was aired less than three weeks after his appearance on Countdown's former sister show, Fifteen to One.

Binns sadly passed away aged 70 in November 2015.
