Catherine Clarke is a lexicographer who first appeared on Countdown in Series 9. Over a 15-year Countdown career, she made 283 appearances in Dictionary Corner, the last of which was in Series 44.
She famously wrongly disallowed Allan Saldanha's word YOLKED in the Series 15 Grand Final. Despite this, she oversaw seven regular grand finals and two Championship of Champions finals, as well as the final of the Supreme Championship.
Clarke has since left the OUP and is now a literary agent.
