Countdown Online Masters 2009

The Countdown Online Masters 2009 was an online tournament organised by Ben Wilson which ran from March-May 2009. 16 of the best players from recent years were invited to the tournament as well as some "wildcards" from the wider Countdown online community. For the first time, all the games were played on Apterous. The tournament was won by the 2008 winner Paul Howe.

Play-ins

9 of the 16 "masters" invited were able to compete. These were Charlie Reams, Junaid Mubeen, Kirk Bevins, Jon Corby, Jon O'Neill, Steven Briers, Nick Wainwright, Mark Tournoff, and the 2008 winner Paul Howe. However, Craig Beevers, Paul Gallen Stewart Holden, Conor Travers, Chris Wills, Dan Vanniasingham and David O'Donnell didn't play for various reasons. This left 7 "wildcard" slots available for people from the wider countdown community. The results were:
