David 'Dave' Nickeas was a finalist in Series 48.

Nickeas rattled off 7 wins including three scores over 100. He beat Julie Cocker 104 – 24, which at the time was the lowest ever score in a 15-round games, later passed by Judy Smedley. In his 8th game he faced Danny Hamilton who held him to a crucial conundrum, which Hamilton was the first to solve.

Nickeas returned for the Series finals as #7 seed behind 6 octochamps, although he had a higher points total than Joe Zubaidi and Julia Wilkinson. Against #2 seed Grace Page, Nickeas looked nervous and missed SOBERING in the first round, which eventually cost him the game as he lost by just 4 points.

In 2014, he appeared as a contestant on Fifteen to One.
