Dennis Fearon was the runner-up of Series 32. He was a 19-year-old student from Nottingham.
He won the final four heats of the series to return for the final rounds as #5 seed, and beat Graeme Sugarman and Satbir Gupta in the quarter- and semi-finals respectively, both by way of a sudden-death conundrum and both with a 63 – 53 scoreline. In the final against Alan Sinclair, it went down to a crucial conundrum with Fearon leading by 5 points. LOSTAGAIN was revealed on the conundrum board, and Fearon buzzed on 3 seconds to say NOSTALGIC. However, this was incorrect, and as soon as the clock was restarted Sinclair buzzed with the correct answer, NOSTALGIA, meaning Fearon suffered his first-ever defeat on the show.
Fearon returned the following week for Championship of Champions VIII, but was comprehensively beaten in the first round by David Acton.
