Andrew Bruno played Christine Jones, with Christine Jones winning 49 – 42. The Dictionary Corner guest was Kenneth Williams, the lexicographer was Mary, and the arithmetician was Carol Vorderman.

NOTE: Jones's declaration of seiving ☓ was initially allowed after Williams misheard her spelling, with the actual spelling, SIEVING, being valid, but Williams reversed his decision after Round 8. This meant that Bruno was awarded 5 points despite not actually declaring his word, which may have been invalid.
