Revision as of 22:51, 4 January 2011

Episode 1906 was broadcast on 19 December 1996, as the second semi-final in the final stages of the Supreme Championship.

Allan Saldanha played Tim Morrissey, with Allan Saldanha winning 61 – 57. The Dictionary Corner guest was Nigel Rees, and the lexicographer was Catherine Clarke.

It's noteworthy that Allan scored all maximums on the letters and numbers, and just needed to solve the conundrum for a perfect score, which would have given him back-to-back perfect scores, following on from his previous match.
