Episode 1907 was broadcast on 20 December 1996, and was the grand final of the Supreme Championship.

Allan Saldanha played Harvey Freeman, with Harvey Freeman winning 82 – 79. The Dictionary Corner guest was Nigel Rees, and the lexicographer was Catherine Clarke.

Saldanha made a poor start, refusing himself CREOSOTED which allowed Freeman to take an 18 point lead after the first round. Saldanha narrowed the gap when Freeman had AMATIVE disallowed. The contestants scored evenly in the next 4 rounds, although neither player could get the conundrum in round 7. Round 8 saw Freeman go even further in front with LUGHOLES, and after a seven each, Freeman beat Saldanha again on the numbers game. From here on, Saldanha made a comeback, spotting CONACRE and the final numbers game, before solving PASTURERS (SUPERSTAR) to lose by just three points, having trailed by 30 points earlier in the game.

The audience for this final comprised most of the contestants in the series. The first of the two conundrums was not solved by either contestant, but when thrown open to the audience, was solved by just one member, Andrew Perry, who had been beaten by Harvey Freeman in the quarter final one week earlier.

Notably, Freeman's selection in the second round was invalid, as it included only three consonants; since Series 30, all letters rounds have required at least four consonants.
