Christine Armstrong played Irene Lewis, with Christine Armstrong winning 89 – 52. The Dictionary Corner guest was Eric Knowles, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.
In contrast to other "thousandth" episodes, the 4000 episode landmark was not mentioned on screen.
