Junaid Mubeen played Charlie Reams, with Junaid Mubeen winning 88 – 84 to become the Series 59 champion. The Dictionary Corner guest was Gyles Brandreth, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.

Notably, this was Des O'Connor and Carol Vorderman's last episode and featured both of them receiving a bunch of flowers from Susie and Gyles respectively. At the end, Carol gave a short speech before bursting into tears, at which point the show ended.
