Episode 4948 was broadcast on 11 December 2009 as the second quarter-final of Series 61.

Steve Wood played Chris Davies, with Chris Davies winning 108 – 61. The Dictionary Corner guest was Dr Phil Hammond, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent. After the conundrum on this episode was missed by both players, the audience member who solved it was the Series 60 champion Kirk Bevins.
