Goody bag
From Countdown
Revision as of 16:17, 1 April 2013 by JRTerrier24 (talk | contribs)
The goody bag is the colloquial term for the prizes given to contestants after they have appeared on Countdown. The prizes are different depending on whether the player won a game, or even made the Series finals. The current goody bag includes:
- Countdown mug
- Countdown pen
- Countdown clock
- Oxford Dictionary of English Third Edition
- Susie Dent's What Made the Crocodile cry?, a book analysing the English language.
Those who also win at least one game get:
- A Countdown teapot
Prizes for finalists are usually trophies of some sort, such as an engraved silver tray or a cut-glass trophy. Series winners get the full Oxford English Dictionary, although as of Series 63, the dictionaries are no longer gold-leaved, but the champion also receives a laptop computer.
