Jon Stitcher

Jon Stitcher has got fatter since his TV appearance, mainly due to no regular exercise and keeping goal for Sensible Soccer FC in the Wirral Monday night 6-a-side league.

Jon Stitcher was a contestant in Series 52. He managed to string together three victories in total, demonstrating consistency by always winning by slim margins and never scoring outside the 80s. Each of his 3 victories were on crucial conundrums. In his fourth game, Jon Stitcher found himself up against Jack Welsby, who proved slightly too strong for him, winning by a margin of 37 points despite Jon leading at the half way stage after finding DISLOCATE. This part of countdown was famous for many reasons, Jon's 9 letter word for a start, Jack finding the interesting word DIOCESAN, Jack solving a very difficult numbers game where he needed to get to 924 with six small numbers but most excitingly of all, the teatime teaser was MUTINEER, the following round the letters were KRMIEENUT with the longest possible word being MUTINEER!

Some of Stitcher's more "creative" offerings include BUSLINE, GIRATES, FACINATED and CAROTS.

He played in JOLT, one of the first online tournaments, and reached the final, reaching a crucial conundrum against Julian Fell.

Jon regards himself as the best looking player in living memory, and is now a professional poker player.

Jon expanded his repertoire by appearing on the ITV show Krypton Factor in February 2009.
