In 2003, she was invited back for a Special game against fellow high-scoring loser from the 9-round era, Linda Dawe where she lost 83-126.

Melanie is from Scotland and has been to the Edinburgh Countdown Club, as well as coming 5th in the COLIN 2005, 6th in the CoBris 2006, and 12th in COLIN 2006. She is also a keen Scrabble player.
