For the contestant in Series 54, see Michael Jones.

Mike Jones was a contestant in Series 39. He was a 46-year-old factory worker from Margam, Port Talbot.

Prior to appearing on Countdown, he had previously been a contestant on the BBC game show Going for Gold in 1991.

He is notable for being only one of two contestants to play against a contestant who failed to score in a 9-round game, the other being Series 13 quarter-finalist Mark Preston. In addition, Jones also beat future Series 59 champion Junaid Mubeen.
