Neil in 2005, winning the London Scrabble League's highest word of the season prize for playing the word PRATIQUE for 203.

Neil Stein was a contestant in Series 7. He was a 55-year-old accountancy lecturer from Birchington, Kent, and once represented England at the ancient Japanese game "Go".

Neil has also appeared on Fifteen to One and spent 11 weeks on BBC2's Crossword on Two.

Neil died from cancer on 11 May 2015 aged 85. [1]
