Paul returned the following week for [[Championship of Champions XII]], disposing of [[John Mayhew]] in the first round and [[Jack Welsby]] in the quarter-finals, before succumbing to eventual runner-up [[Mark Tournoff]] in the semi-finals, losing 99-88.
