Rachel Riley
From Countdown
Rachel Riley is a hostess on Countdown. She will take over from Carol Vorderman at the start of Series 60 in January 2009.
Riley, from Southend, graduated with an upper second class Master's Degree in Mathematics from Oriel College, Oxford (This is an undergraduate degree, the equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree elsewhere. See the Wikipedia article on Oxford Degrees). She was chosen from around 1000 applicants when it was decided to cast an unknown to replace Carol Vorderman. Countdown is her first television experience.
