Series 80
Series 80 is the most recently completed series of Countdown. It began on January 23 2019 following Championship of Champions XV and concluded on June 28 2019. The series was won by the number 2 seed Dinos Sfyris, who defeated the number 1 seed Elliott Mellor to win the series. This marks two consecutive series won by the number 2 seed (after Mike Daysley won Series 79).
This series saw the highest ever score achieved on Countdown. In his second heat game on May 17th 2019, Elliott Mellor scored 152 points, beating the four month old record held by Zarte Siempre who scored 150 in the quarter finals of the Championship of Champions XV.
