Stop Deleting Redirects!!!!!

They are used in order for wrong links to be sent to the right page. And what's more, redirect a page if you can, rather than delete it. Please stop it. The Doctor 21:47, 23 September 2019 (UTC)

All the redirects I've deleted in the last week were either a broken redirect or an unused category and would thus meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion. ('A.J.' Marriot was not a traditional broken redirect, but clicking on it took me to a '404 Not Found' page, so as far as I'm concerned it's broken.) He got lucky, actually, because that thought did strike me yesterday morning after User:Moron4, and by the time I next had access to a computer User:Sysop had made him an administrator, so he obviously doesn't think so. Had Sysop not done so I would have blocked that evening. Various things

• Masters: I didn't want to leave what I was doing half-finished in the mainspace of the article itself. The Masters pages are extremely messy and indeed all the contestants' pages that played in them. That was just taking a bit longer than I anticipated.
• Catsdown: I also strongly retain the view of moving all the Catsdown episodes to Episode Cats1, Cats2, etc., since they're the only episodes that don't have an "Episode X" syntax: even Episode Gotcha was moved back and forth for ages before you were here as there was a lot of debate as to whether to label it "Episode Gotcha" or just "Gotcha", but that's a discussion for later on.
• Spam: Insofar as the endless spam is concerned, I believe Charlie disabled auto-confirming users (new users had to be manually approved by an admin) at one point so there is some sort of way around this as far as I'm concerned. And having been impersonated (rather badly) I do have a vested interest in this!
• Opportunity: Covid-19 really is some kind of opportunity really to iron out the issues that we see on here. I'm happy to be made an admin since I've been here 10 years(!) but I'm indifferent either way. I hope that @JRTerrier24 sees this message, and @Johnny_Canuck, amongst others.

Anyway, that's all from me for now; let me know what you think. I'm also 80% sure of who you are but I'm obviously not going to say that here: feel free to drop me a message on whatever social media you see fit if you wanted to discuss this somewhere more privately. Masters is up to you, although with a wiki like this where fewer people are going to see the code I'd be less shy about testing 'semi-live' (i.e. within the article but commented out). I agree with you that all episode titles should begin 'Episode', though I'm not sure I'd call the Catsdown episodes "Episode CatsX".

The solution to the spam is to install CheckUser, because that means I can trace the IP addresses of the vandals, and apply a rangeblock. I can also tell you that I genuinely thought you were an admin. Repeats

The reason I reverted your edit to Series 82 is that it's not as straightforward as that. All of the repeats so far have had waffle taken out, some will have rounds taken out, and some will not be shown at all - Damian has said so on Apto. So whilst it may seem like overkill for now, it will become quite complicated in future. You raise a good point, but not necessarily the one I think you were trying to make. To the one you were, Susie is usually in there, but (for my money) is missing sufficiently often that we do need a column. On fixing redirects - this is something you can help out with if you so wish (ZoomDown and dinner are calling tonight!) so it's really quite simple: Special:DoubleRedirects has: "Episode 8-10 7-12" (eg) which can go since I've delinked them. Additionally, "8 out of 10..." can go (as it's a legacy from a different numbering system) so it leaves just "8 Out of 10...". The Doctor 17:27, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

Just to say that when you've done whatever you wanted to do, remember you need to relink both {{R-TTT}} and {{R-SST}}. No idea why Johnny put those Seven Seas things in the recaps but they're there now. The Doctor 14:59, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

Template:episode table

I see what you've tried to do but the problem with this is you're now going to have to update every contestant entry as well with multiple whatevers. I know it's a bit WP:IDONTLIKEIT but it's a bigger undertaking than you think - I made the same mistake 10 years ago when I added the max parameter. Had a fleeting thought about why couldn't we have weekly featured articles rather than monthly? But then I realised there's no Template:CURRENTWEEKNUMBER or anything like that, which is how the front page is currently coded (or is there?). I do think there is a workaround but it requires 366 protected template redirects - {{fa january 1}} through to {{fa january 6}} --> {{fa wk 1}}, e.g. I do think we should have some new ones, but would like second opinions. The category is very subjective - "won or significantly impressed". James Squires was invited back before returnees were a thing, so obviously made an impression on the producers, so I would say goes in. Brighton

Google Maps has the boundary between Southwick and Portslade, so it's just possible that he happens to live in a small part of Southwick encompassed by the City. Not all of Harrow's in the London Borough of Harrow, for example (Northwick Park Hospital is on the Brent side of the Harrow/Brent border but uses a Harrow address).--Launchballer 10:48, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

Should this wiki have copyright templates for images?

I've noticed on other wikis that they have templates about copyright for images, so should this wiki have them too? It has seemed fine without them for 15 years, but I don't know if they might be worth having just in case. If so, I think these templates might be needed:

• Template:Non-free television screenshot for images taken from episodes
• Template:Non-free book cover for images of dictionaries, books and magazines
• Template:Non-free use rationale

I'll be honest, I'm a bit annoyed too. I'll apologize on my behalf but to put things gentle, I just wanna know why are we moving sandboxes. Looked through the history too and nothing's followed up, which puts me at a bit of confusion. Not trying to strike chords with someone, but I am trying to defend myself because I felt a bit uncomfy when MON linked me into this. That felt unnecessary.
