:::There's no "right" way of doing things, which I assume you mean the standard way. I know what you mean, but if Channel 4 has already named the episodes in such a way on their website, the episodes here should be named as such (Minus the Christmas Specials which I tag them as the last episode of a Series). For the second part, what I meant was seed tables are only there because there are Finals at the end of the Series and to let us all see the chances of who gets in there; Catsdown does not have such a thing. Furthermore, Sean and Jon the regulars do not appear again just because they win, they are well, the regulars. Plus, this is a very relaxed version of the normal show with made-up rules and bonuses, so if I factor all these in, it's simply not fair. --[[User:RLSJ1997|RLSJ1997]] 04:00, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

Remaining Series 77 Recaps!

Hi RLSJ,

I'm leaving to head out West tomorrow morning. I should be in my folks' place, where I'm staying, by about 3pm your time. If you could have the recap for tomorrow's episode (4th quarter final) up by 4pm or so, that would be great, but please don't rush it if you're busy. I will be able to confirm shortly thereafter whether or not I have any means of accessing the C4 livestreams. If not, feel free to make the semi-final and grand final recaps as well.

I'll check over your recap as soon as it's made to ensure that all the conventions (spaces in the tables, uses of ☓ and similar templates, etc.) are right. I'll also double-check all the letters selections against Lexplorer; however, I've noticed you've been adding the max scores for each game to the Series 77 table in advance before I update the contestants' pages, and all of those max scores so far have been correct, so I do trust (and respect) you very much as a recapper. However, should you have any questions about recap creation, please contact me ASAP.

Happy holidays, and thanks kindly once again. JohnnyCanuck 22:02, 18 December 2017 (GMT)

Hi Johnny, no worries as I'm on leave from my workplace from today until the Series ends, it should be alright. I have been using Lexplorer and I have my own personal recap Excel Sheet on standby. I calculate the Max Score as I'm writing all the contestants declarations at the same time if you want to know how I came out with the numbers. Thanks and Happy Holidays! Hope you can access Countdown all the way back at your hometown! --RLSJ1997 22:51, 18 December 2017 (GMT)
Hey RLSJ, I have looked over your recap and it looks just about perfect (and for a FREAKIN' AWESOME game, no less). The one small thing I changed was correcting the spaces on the left and right sides of certain words according to conventions; for example, the width of each letters selection column (offered words + spaces) should be at least 9 characters. I've fixed this automatically for you.
I have found out that I actually can access Countdown where I'm staying. However, its 6:10am start in my current time zone may make it difficult to complete the recaps immediately after the shows, as I usually do. Therefore, you can do your Excel tabulations and make your own recaps alongside the ones I'm making, and if it turns out you're finished first, you can still put the details on the wiki. Whatever is most convenient for you.
Once again, thank you muchly. JohnnyCanuck 18:40, 19 December 2017 (GMT)
Hi Johnny, wow thanks for the compliments! Alright, noted on the use of the Subtraction sign and the spaces as well to make it neater. Sure no problem, by the time the show starts it's actually 10:10pm at where I stay (I live in Singapore), working into the night and even into the early hours of the next day should be alright with me. It's ok if you beat me haha, thanks and yes, an enjoyable game! --RLSJ1997 23:41, 19 December 2017 (GMT)

Episode 6782

I'm going to be writing an exam during a large part of the Countdown episode tomorrow -- do you want to recap it instead? JohnnyCanuck 02:39, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

Hi Johnny, sure no problem, I'd be more than happy to do it! Hopefully my TV does not crash like yesterday which it did and the audio was lost after Round 8! I had to watch from my laptop to retrieve the information since there's no morning re-run until the Winter Paralympics are over! --RLSJ1997 02:57, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

Up for writing the recap today?

I'll be away for a couple of hours after Countdown so I can definitely do it afterward if you are busy. JohnnyCanuck 11:49, 11 May 2018 (UTC)

Sure no problem! I'm up for it! :) --RLSJ1997 11:50, 11 May 2018 (UTC)

Is there a way of clearing up Catsdown?

I think the whole Catsdown section is extremely messy and poorly laid-out.

First, what does Channel 4 say is Series 1, because different sources claim different things on the pilot episodes? Second, can the episodes be renamed "Episode Cats0001" and so on, because at the moment the titles are extremely clunky? Third, there needs to be an overall index (as with Series winners). Fourth, Series tables could really do with league tables, as well as an overall "C1 vs C2" record.

I would appreciate your input. The Doctor 16:45, 7 August 2018 (UTC)

Hi, to answer your questions:

1) I use the official Channel 4 Website Page (Note that since late 2017, they have properly classified all the episodes: [1]).

2) No, because it would add even more confusion. While I understand your concern it's clunky and long-winded, if I follow that format instead, it will confuse people and myself. I'm adapting the format used by the former person doing the recaps before he abandoned it in mid-March 2016.

3) The Overall Page is 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown but as you can see, it's pretty much empty because this will only be edited when I'm finished revamping the remaining episodes which could take until mid-2019 at the latest. Maybe if you have some things to write about you can add in first?

4) The normal version of Countdown doesn't use the league tables, so for now, I'm not putting them in.

Since the start of this year, I had a plan to revamp all the episodes which as you can see why it's so messy at the moment. But do bear with me, we'll get through this in a few months time and sort out all the mess. :) --RLSJ1997 02:22, 8 August 2018 (UTC)
