Regular [[Sean Lock]] and Acting Team Captain [[Alan Carr]] were the [[contestant]]s, along with [[Sara Pascoe]] and [[Tom Allen]] who were their teammates respectively, while [[Jimmy Carr]] reprised his role as the host.

The match saw Sean Lock, with the assistance of Sara Pascoe, winning by {{score|37|29}} in an [[7 round format|7-rounder]] and they won a [[Countdown]] bagpipe.

[[Rachel Riley]] was, as ever, the [[arithmetician]]. The [[Dictionary Corner]] guest was [[Rosie Jones]], and the [[lexicographer]] was [[Susie Dent]]. [[Joe Wilkinson]] also made a special appearance on the show.

Interesting and notable moments from the episode are listed below:

1) During the Introduction, Sara introduced her prop which was a muffler with an equestrian as a decoration to drown out the noise when she was playing the games; she would subsequently use it for all rounds except for Round 4 where she took a break. Also, Tom introduced three uncredited male individuals, Daniel, Nick and James from the rugby team ''Wessex Wyverns'' (which is indeed a real team [https://twitter.com/WyvernsRFCUK]). After James said he didn't know Tom, Alan cheekily took one of Sean's props, a cucumber stuffed into a condom and replied, "how lonely", caused much laughter from the audience.

2) During the 30 seconds in Round 1, Jimmy tried to shoot three metal cans positioned beside Rachel on a stand from his seat. While he successfully shot the first two cans, he missed the last with the remaining two shots, breaking a ''Countdown'' mug and hitting "Susie" respectively (which was revealed to be a doll).

3) In Round 3, the clock music was replaced with ''[[wikipedia:Sandstorm (instrumental)|Sandstorm]]'' by {{w|Darude}}. Simultaneously, Jimmy pedalled alongside with Fabio, the show's permanent male model and another unknown model using exercise bikes, pedalling "so hard" that the biked detached and he "cycled" around the studio. It was later revealed that Jimmy's bike was controlled off-camera and was difficult to reverse, causing him to collide into the other two exercise bikes before he dismounted.

4) In Round 4, as Tom asked for "six numbers" and did not specify, Rachel randomly picked two large and four small ones as the combination. Later in Round 6, Sean tried to confuse Joe, who was assisting Rachel by putting up the letters by shouting "vowel" and "consonant" randomly at a fast pace, causing him to drop an unknown letter together with the {{word|G}} on the floor in the process. As a result, the letters selection was completely random and the {{word|G}} was inverted throughout the entire round.

5) Just before Round 5, Joe introduced some of his "inventions". These were: A baby papoose for adults which he was the "baby" and carried by an uncredited male, a toilet seat dispenser, a gravy dispenser using a chip-and-pin machine and a fancy bottle opener machine.

NOTE 2: For reasons unknown, this episode was swapped around with another that had [[Adam Riches]] as the Dictionary Corner guest. That episode has yet to air as of the time of writing.
