Round one

Round 1 of this game baffles me. The selection appears to spell a valid word that's already in exactly the right order (heck, it's even been used as a conundrum before), and yet neither the contestants nor DC notice?? The only explanation I can think of is that BREASTING was not allowed at the time of this special, but was added to a later dictionary. JohnnyCanuck 23:40, 2 June 2010 (BST)

Seems a possible explanation. Even though the transmission dates of S4 and 3781 were only a year apart, there was a change of dictionary from NODE to ODE in that time.--Drawoh 23:53, 2 June 2010 (BST)

I'm not sure what that's meant to prove - I would guess that BREASTING isn't in the NODE. I would assume this until it is proven otherwise, as I doubt DC would have failed to declare a perfectly valid word spelt out in front of them without a valid reason! -- Chris 'Crispy' Philpot 13:09, 13 July 2010 (BST)

Last night I thought of another explanation for this incident. The recapper may have gotten the "Selection" and "Others" columns mixed up when the original recap was written. In this case, the round would look like this (for example):

1	?????????	BASTING	0 – 8	ANGRIEST	BREASTING	18
