Steve Cram CBE is a guest on Countdown. He is a retired track and field athlete who set records in mid-distance running during the 1980s. He is the first person to run 1,500 metres in under 3 and a half minutes. Nicknamed as "The Jarrow Arrow", he won the 1,500m World Championship gold in 1983, and Olympic silver in the same distance in 1984. Cram now works as a coach and motivational speaker, as well as a commentator and presenter for the BBC.
