The first ever edition of the magazine

The Countdown Puzzle Magazine was an official magazine containing puzzles and competitions based on the television programme Countdown. The first issue appeared in 1986, and was published by Mirror newspapers and priced at 80p. The magazine began as a quarterly, but from issue 5 became a bi-monthly.

The magazine was relaunched in 1992, now published by Collins, and costing £1.50.

The next relaunch was in September 1994, now as a monthly costing £1.25, and with added interviews and behind the scenes features. (It is currently unknown how long this ran for.)
