Steve Cram CBE (nicknamed as The Jarrow Arrow) is a guest on Countdown. He is a track and field coach, and BBC athletics commentator. Formerly as an athlete, Cram set records in middle-distance running during the 1980s: he is the first person known to have ran 1,500 metres in under 3.5 minutes, he won the 1,500m World Championship gold in 1983 and Olympic silver in the same distance in 1984.
