Kathryn Apanowicz was a guest on Countdown and was Richard Whiteley's partner for many years, as well as being an actress on Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale.
Other than the special episode, One Last Consonant Please, Carol, she unsurprisingly never returned to Countdown after Whiteley's death.
Apanowicz passed away on 3 March 2025 at the age of 64, nearly 20 years after Whiteley's death.
