The Series was commissioned after the success of the two pilot episodes recorded in the former studio in Leeds in 2012, [[Episode Cats1|8 Out of 10 Cats Do Countdown]] and [[Episode Cats2|8 Out of 10 Cats Mashup: The Rematch]]. Following [[Countdown]]'s move to Salford City for tapings which aired since 21 March 2013, the show had followed suit starting with the first episode from this series and has continued from there ever since.
