Andrew Auger was a contestant in Series 36. Despite losing to Maria Boyesin his sole appearance on Countdown in 1997, he would go on to greater success on Countdown's former sister show Fifteen-to-One between 1998 and 2000, making eight appearances in all, including three Grand Final appearances.
