However, following Hewer's announcement of retiring from the programme in 2021, Murray was not chosen to take Hewer's place as main presenter and was instead replaced by [[Anne Robinson]]. However, following Robinson announcing her departure from the programme in May 2022, Murray returned to temporarily host again on 14 July 2022, after Robinson's last episode aired the previous day, although it remains to be seen if he will become a full time host by November 2022.
