Episode 249

From Countdown
Revision as of 13:19, 13 September 2010 by JRTerrier24 (talk | contribs)

Episode 249 was broadcast on 27 January 1985, as part of Series 6.

Irene Pollard played Darryl Francis, with Darryl Francis winning 41 - 21. The Dictionary Corner guest was Gyles Brandreth, and the lexicographer was Yvonne Warberton.

This episode was notable for being the first ever one shown at a weekend. It was shown at the usual time, but on a Sunday. This was to compensate for a missed episode on the previous Wednesday due to live House of Lords coverage.
