Steve Hyde played Jim Athey, with Steve Hyde winning 89 – 67. The Dictionary Corner guest was Jon Culshaw, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.
This was also Rachel Riley's first episode back from maternity leave as Countdown's arithmetician. A few words were said at the start of the episode welcoming her back, and her husband Pasha Kovalev and their newborn daughter Noa briefly joined her on stage.
