8 out of 10 Cats Do Countdown was broadcast on 2 January 2012, as a special episode marking Channel 4's 30th anniversary.

As part of the celebrations, Channel 4 decided to "mash-up" well-known shows.

8 out of 10 Cats regulars Sean Lock and Jon Richardson were the contestants, while Jimmy Carr was the host. The match saw Jon Richardson winning by 45 – 21 in a 7-rounder.

It was then followed up by a rematch, 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, broadcast on 24 August 2012.
