Episode Cats117, billed as 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 18, Episode 6 was a special episode broadcast on 30 August 2019, as part of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 18.

Regular Sean Lock and Acting Team Captain Alan Carr were the contestants, along with Harriet Kemsley and Catherine Tate who were their teammates respectively, while Jimmy Carr reprised his role as the host.

The match saw Sean Lock, with the assistance of Harriet Kemsley, winning by 41 – 24 in an 7-rounder and they won a Countdown cowboy set (consisting of a cowboy's hat and boots).

Rachel Riley was, as ever, the arithmetician. The Dictionary Corner guest was Adam Buxton, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.

Interesting and notable moments from the episode are listed below:

1) In Round 1, the clock music was replaced by an uncredited man and woman yodelling beside Jimmy, to which he ended the round by blowing into an alpine horn which barely produced any noise. He would later pass the horn to Alan to blow into, which also proved futile.

2) In Round 2, due to the huge amount of confusion created by both Sean and Catherine, Jimmy got fed up and declared that both teams should not get any points. Hence, everyone's declaration is listed as a blank in this case. This would also be the case in Round 4 due to Harriet and Catherine being unsure what they had.

3) In Round 3, Sean threw darts to select the letters in which the corresponding number the dart landed on would be the letter chosen (e.g. 9 for I), thus ignoring the conventional rule that there must be a minimum of three vowels for a letters round. Also, during the 30 seconds in that same round, Jimmy "baked" a cake for Alan and Sean, to which the latter broke his and spilled cheese all over the table.

4) In Round 5, both Sean and Alan changed what they had declared after the time was up. Jimmy ruled that he would allow Sean's change if it was a nine, which indeed it was. Since Sean got the points, Alan was also awarded seven points for a similar change.

5) During the 30 seconds in Round 6, both Jimmy and Rachel sat on a see-saw to the right of the studio until Rachel "propelled" Jimmy into the top of the studio, resulting in him getting stuck before "falling" back down to earth. Fabio, the show's permanent male host would also sit on it just before the credits rolled.

NOTE: In this version, both players' declarations were allowed, although points were only awarded for the best answer.
