Episode Cats45, billed as 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 7, Episode 12 was a special episode broadcast on 31 July 2015, as part of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 7.
8 Out of 10 Cats regular Sean Lock and Acting Team Captain Bill Bailey were the contestants, along with Freddie Flintoff and Roisin Conaty who were their teammates, while Jimmy Carr reprised his role as the host.
The match saw Sean Lock, with the assistance of Freddie Flintoff, winning by 48 – 44 in an 8-rounder and they won a pair of Countdown roller skates.
Rachel Riley was, as ever, the arithmetician. The Dictionary Corner guest was Rob Beckett, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.
In Round 2, Sean was not asked to show his solution, however it can be assumed it was identical to Bill and Freddie's.
In Round 5, Bill brought out his electric keyboard and played the notes corresponding the letters that Roisin was selecting. However, as there is no X, I, L and O on a music scale, he resorted to saying them out through varying pitches except the X which was replaced by a music beat.
NOTE 1: In this version, both players' declarations were allowed, although points were only awarded for the best answer.
NOTE 2: The consonants were shuffled during the Second Teaser, resulting in those letters appearing upside down initially when Rachel drew them out for Round 5. However, this was rectified by the Third Teaser and the error no longer appeared by Round 7.
