Interesting and notable moments from the episode are listed below:

In Round 4, Claudia who did not declare her target as she was not asked, initially got to 164 but after some assistance from Rachel Riley who hinted she still had an 8 and 4 left to use, she reached the target using the method below. Thus, although this was considered "cheating", points were still awarded to her team.
+
1) During the 30 seconds in Round 1, three basketball players dribbled a basketball before handing it over to Jimmy, who then "bounced" over a trampoline, performed a "somersault" and tossing it into the net.

In between Round 4 and the second Teaser, Adam Riches was sprayed with water by Susie Dent using a machine while asking Rachel Riley to place letters on the board to describe himself which turned out to be the rude word "BASTARDS" coupled with an exclamation mark at the end to fill up all nine spaces.
+
2) During the 30 seconds in Round 3, Jimmy started knitting, only to end up knitting his face and his shirt which he was wearing and after the declarations, he removed them and was visibly sweating.

In Round 5, just as Rob Beckett asked Rachel Riley for four consonants, it spelled out "CVNT", which is a clever disguise for the rude word "C*NT" and left the audience laughing at the blunder. At this point, he asked for all vowels until the letter "U" was obtained, after which the rest of the letters asked were consonants. When Jon Richardson declared he had a four, Claudia initially panicked and thought he was going to say that rude word but it turned out to be "CENT" instead and Jon jokingly said he didn't go to America often.

3) In Round 4, Claudia initially got to 164 but after some assistance from Rachel who hinted she still had an 8 and 4 left to use, reached the target using the method below. Thus, although this was considered "cheating", points were still awarded to her team.

In Round 6, Richard used an unconventional method and used squares and cubes for the numbers which is not allowed but was commended by Rachel by saying it was "groundbreaking". Also, although Claudia got 70 but was not asked to show her method, it can be assumed she got it using the method shown below.
+
4) Just before the Second Teaser, Adam was sprayed with water by Susie using a machine while asking Rachel to place letters on the board to describe himself which turned out to be the rude word {{word|BASTARDS}} coupled with an exclamation mark at the end to fill up all nine spaces.

In Round 7, Jimmy shot an arrow at one of the "E"s on the board, but what's notable is that the same "E" shot was not the one reflected on the split screen when Rachel re-arranged to form whatever words the contestants got, indicating the split-screen shooting was a computerised animation.
+
5) In Round 5, just as Rob asked Rachel for four consonants, it spelled out {{word|CVNT}}, which is a clever disguise for the rude word {{word|CUNT}} and left the audience laughing at the blunder. At this point, he asked for all vowels until a {{word|U}} was obtained, after which the rest of the letters asked were consonants. When Jon declared he had a four, Claudia initially panicked and thought he was going to say that rude word but it turned out to be {{word|CENT}} instead, to which Jon jokingly said he didn't go to America often.

NOTE: In this version, both players' declarations were allowed, although points were only awarded for the best answer.

7) In Round 7, Jimmy shot an arrow at the first {{word|E}} on the board, but what's notable was that the {{word|E}} that was targeted was custom-made, indicating the split-screen shooting was a computerised animation.

Episode Cats70, billed as 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 11, Episode 5 was a special episode broadcast on 22 October 2016, as part of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 11.

Acting Team Captain Richard Ayoade and Regular Jon Richardson were the contestants, along with incoming 8 out of 10 Cats regular Rob Beckett and Claudia Winkleman who were their teammates respectively, while Jimmy Carr reprised his role as the host.

Rachel Riley was, as ever, the arithmetician. The Dictionary Corner guest was Adam Riches (pretending to be Sean Bean), and the lexicographer was Susie Dent. Dermot Gallagher, a retired Irish football referee appeared during the Introduction when Jon called him out using a whistle, after the time was up in Round 1 where where he gave Jon Richardson an extra minute to write his answer down and just before Round 3 where he sprayed white paint to denote a line to prevent cheating.

The match saw Jon Richardson, with the assistance of Claudia Winkleman, winning by 48 – 3 in an 8-rounder and they won a Countdown foot spa which came in a pair complimentary with a wooden bench.

Interesting and notable moments from the episode are listed below:

1) During the 30 seconds in Round 1, three basketball players dribbled a basketball before handing it over to Jimmy, who then "bounced" over a trampoline, performed a "somersault" and tossing it into the net.

2) During the 30 seconds in Round 3, Jimmy started knitting, only to end up knitting his face and his shirt which he was wearing and after the declarations, he removed them and was visibly sweating.

3) In Round 4, Claudia initially got to 164 but after some assistance from Rachel who hinted she still had an 8 and 4 left to use, reached the target using the method below. Thus, although this was considered "cheating", points were still awarded to her team.

4) Just before the Second Teaser, Adam was sprayed with water by Susie using a machine while asking Rachel to place letters on the board to describe himself which turned out to be the rude word BASTARDS coupled with an exclamation mark at the end to fill up all nine spaces.

5) In Round 5, just as Rob asked Rachel for four consonants, it spelled out CVNT, which is a clever disguise for the rude word CUNT and left the audience laughing at the blunder. At this point, he asked for all vowels until a U was obtained, after which the rest of the letters asked were consonants. When Jon declared he had a four, Claudia initially panicked and thought he was going to say that rude word but it turned out to be CENT instead, to which Jon jokingly said he didn't go to America often.

6) In Round 6, Richard used an unconventional method and used squares and cubes for the numbers which is not allowed but was commended by Rachel by saying it was "groundbreaking". (His solution was: 10³ − 5² × 2.)

7) In Round 7, Jimmy shot an arrow at the first E on the board, but what's notable was that the E that was targeted was custom-made, indicating the split-screen shooting was a computerised animation.

NOTE 1: In this version, both players' declarations were allowed, although points were only awarded for the best answer.

NOTE 2: To date, Round 6 of this episode is the only Numbers Round on this version of the show that no points can be obtained.
