There were many notable moments in this episode in every single round, as listed belows:
+
Just before Round 5, there was a bonus round in which both teams had to guess what Danny wrote on two of his tweets with a word on each blacked out, however no one got the correct word for both. Instead, there was an extra bonus asking why Danny considered himself to be middle class, to which Sean answered correctly, thus five points were awarded to his team.

In Round 1, it is odd that after Joe declared the word "GRAFTER", Susie Dent said it was invalid as there were two "l"s that needed to make up that word; it should have been two "r"s instead.
+
Interesting and notable moments from the episode are listed below:

In Round 2, Danny Dyer voluntarily did not participate and as a result, he did not have an answer to declare.
+
1) During the Introduction, Joe showed his prop which was a "family photo" with everyone wearing masks which was so big it came hanging down from the ceiling of the studio. Also, Sean showed off a drone to which he flew off the table causing some of his papers to drop off as well. At the same time, Joe tried to insert a fake fish into the bucket to which it was attached to the drone and even with help from David, failed to the point he furiously kicked the fish into the audience. Later on just after Round 3, Sean used it again to fly a "carcass" of a bird while the song Lean on Me was played in the background.

In Round 3, Joe Wilkinson kept interrupting Danny Dyer while he was selecting the letters by deliberately asking for specific letters which is not possible, but this did not stop Rachel from picking Danny's selection as he had the right to choose the letters for that round.
+
2) During the 30 seconds in Round 1, Jimmy was surrounded by bat puppets and after several "claps" of thunder, turned into Dracula which notably shocked Gabby.

In Round 4, David O'Doherty was invited to give the solution on behalf of Rachel Riley. Notably, as he started to write out the solution the marker ink faded and in a rage he threw it on the floor with so much force that it caused the "25" to drop off from the board.
+
3) In Round 2, Danny voluntarily did not participate and as a result, he did not have any answer to declare.

In Round 5, with only 8 letters on the board David O'Doherty immediately spotted the word "IRELAND" which Joe used to his advantage but unfortunately as it was considered cheating he could not win any points.
+
4) In Round 3, Joe kept interrupting Danny while he was selecting the letters by deliberately asking for specific letters which was not possible, but this did not stop Rachel from picking Danny's selection as he had the right to choose the letters for that round. Also, the clock music was replaced with an Irish dance music with six women dressed in traditional Irish dresses dancing in the centre of the studio with Jimmy "dancing along" to the right of where they were.

In Round 6, encouraged by Jimmy's words to get a nine-letter word, Joe said ETOWHATLA and to amusingly prove it "was" in the dictionary, Susie brought out the Pencam and showed him what he spelled which was written on another piece of paper with a pen sticked onto the Dictionary.
+
5) In Round 4, David was invited to give the solution on behalf of Rachel. As he started to write out the solution, the marker ink faded and in a rage, threw it on the floor with so much force that it caused the "25" to drop off the board.

There was a bonus round which involved both teams guessing what Danny Dyer wrote on two of his tweets with a word on each tweet blacked out, however no one got the correct word for both. Instead, there was an extra bonus asking why Danny considered himself to be middle class; 5 points were awarded to Sean's team for Sean Lock having guessed the correct answer to the extra bonus question.
+
6) In Round 6, the fourth letter was originally an X, but was thrown out as Joe said nobody liked that letter and was replaced by the W. However, even if that had not happened, the maximum for the original selection would still be OATHLET and thus unaffected. Also, encouraged by Jimmy's words to get a nine-letter word, he declared etowhatla x and to amusingly prove it "was" in the dictionary, Susie brought out the Pencam and showed him what he spelled which was written on another piece of paper with a pen sticked onto where that word would be in the ODE.

Episode Cats71, billed as 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 11, Episode 6 was a special episode broadcast on 29 October 2016, as part of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 11.

Regular Sean Lock and Acting Team Captain Joe Wilkinson were the contestants, along with Danny Dyer and Gabby Logan who were their teammates respectively, while Jimmy Carr reprised his role as the host.

The match saw Sean Lock, with the assistance of Danny Dyer, winning by 46 – 11 in an 7-rounder and they won a Countdown keytar.

Rachel Riley, as ever, was the arithmetician. The Dictionary Corner guest was David O'Doherty, and the lexicographer was Susie Dent.

Interesting and notable moments from the episode are listed below:

1) During the Introduction, Joe showed his prop which was a "family photo" with everyone wearing masks which was so big it came hanging down from the ceiling of the studio. Also, Sean showed off a drone to which he flew off the table causing some of his papers to drop off as well. At the same time, Joe tried to insert a fake fish into the bucket to which it was attached to the drone and even with help from David, failed to the point he furiously kicked the fish into the audience. Later on just after Round 3, Sean used it again to fly a "carcass" of a bird while the song Lean on Me was played in the background.

2) During the 30 seconds in Round 1, Jimmy was surrounded by bat puppets and after several "claps" of thunder, turned into Dracula which notably shocked Gabby.

3) In Round 2, Danny voluntarily did not participate and as a result, he did not have any answer to declare.

5) In Round 4, David was invited to give the solution on behalf of Rachel. As he started to write out the solution, the marker ink faded and in a rage, threw it on the floor with so much force that it caused the "25" to drop off the board.

6) In Round 6, the fourth letter was originally an X, but was thrown out as Joe said nobody liked that letter and was replaced by the W. However, even if that had not happened, the maximum for the original selection would still be OATHLET and thus unaffected. Also, encouraged by Jimmy's words to get a nine-letter word, he declared etowhatla ☓ and to amusingly prove it "was" in the dictionary, Susie brought out the Pencam and showed him what he spelled which was written on another piece of paper with a pen sticked onto where that word would be in the ODE.

NOTE 1: In this version, both players' declarations were allowed, although points were only awarded for the best answer.

NOTE 2: This is the first time in more than two years that the Pencam has been seen on screen. The last appearance of it was in Episode 5946, the grand final of Series 70.
