Matt Le Tissier is a guest on Countdown, and was a contestant in Series 73. He is a former professional footballer, having played for Southampton and England.
During his debut appearance on Countdown on 29 June 2009, the conundrum scramble was LETISSIER in his honour.
In 2015, he announced that he had applied to be a contestant and had passed the audition, thus making him only the second person to have appeared both as a guest and as a contestant in "normal" episodes after Damian Eadie, as well as the first to become a contestant after having previously served as a guest.
