Rodney Marrison was a finalist in Series 42.
Marrison started his Countdown journey midway through the series, depositing Jane Wheeler on his debut. He won a further six shows before being denied octochamp status by Denis Allan. However, his performances were enough to qualify for the finals as number 4 seed.
In the last quarter-final of the series, Marrison squared up against John Hastings in one of the closest games in Countdown history. Both players were dead level going into the crucial conundrum SUMORINGO, which neither player unravelled. Unfortunately, for Marrison, he was eventually unseated after Hastings unravelled the tie-break conundrum FORMYLUNI.
