8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown Series 12 was a series of ten special episodes that began on 24 December 2016 with a Christmas special and ended on 1 May 2017. There was also a New Year Special which aired on 30 December 2016.

This series was notable in that both regulars, Sean and Jon were not seen together for majority of the episodes again due to their individual tours and conflicting schedules.

Joe Wilkinson made a special appearance as an additional guest in the New Year special.
