De Mooi is a serial quiz show contestant, and has won Fifteen to One and The Weakest Link (both in 2000), 100% (2001), and has been a Mensa chess champion. He has also appeared on Number 1, Beat the Nation and No Win, No Fee. Between 2003 and 2012, and again between 2014 and 2016 he was one of the Eggheads on the BBC quiz of the same name.
